YFZ 450 stock hp rating?
#1
I read that Honda claims its new 450R will have 42 hp (at the crank) when stock and 47 hp at the crank with Honda's hop-up kit. Can someone please tell me what is the hp rating (at the crank) for the yfz 450 when stock and what is the hp rating with Yamaha's hop-up kit?

I've seen dyno's everywhere from 37-41 hp stock and upto 49.1 with jet, filter and pipe. I think the YFZ and the 450r will be very close. Either one will be an awesome machine. I'm waiting on the 450r myself. Partly because it is a Honda and secondly because the seat to footpeg distance seems to short (and I'm only 5-10) on the yfz. I currently own the 400ex and the ergonomics are great, so I'm hoping the 450r will be very similar.

if its from the manufacturer then I would be almost positive its at the crank. I've never heard of them giving true rwhp numbers. The YFZ is very fast from what I've seen. I'm sure both the Honda and the Yami are going to be amazing and it will probably come down to which bike you feel more comfortable on.

I would think that the 39 is at the crank. I wasnt too impressed with the YFZ all corked up stock.
After an hour in the Spinreel parking lot to uncork and re-jet it I was happy

When I had mine Dyno'd they were not too impressed as they just did a stock one a few days before and it got 31hp, Mine was jetted and piped and hit 41.6, wonder with the new airbox and cam mod how much more that would add. Might have to haul it up there and see sometime...
