just got my yfz 450 and the guy at the dealership told me something about either retarding or advancing the timing by one degree would give more hp. Im going to put a pipe,jet kit, and filter on the bike but i want to know what to tell the guys that do the timing what to do so they dont screw things up. Also what are the ups and downs to doing this to the bike? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated,Thanks for your help.

 

You retard! I mean you retard the cam timing. You can do it yourself.

 

go to yfz central.com and click on cam mod it gives step by step instructions. it give a noticable increase in power especially with a pipe and jet w/a k&n it wakes the bike up alot.
