Im thinking about going 686 with 12:1 comp, I dont have access to race gas here, can you simply boost the octane with octane booster bought in the store and be safe?

I dunno about the octane boost stuff but most motorcycle shops have race gas available. You can also check with local gas stations some will have race gas they hand pump from drums. Locally you can purchase Unocal 110 from their bulk plants (distributors). I buy from a MX shop at around $4.50 per gallon.

Here in east ky, there isnt much, no unocals, and the local shops are lucky to have tools. My only option would be octane boost if it works

There must be some circle tracks/stockcars around that you could check out.

thats about 5 hours from where i live, theres absolutely nothing here without driving at least a few hours. I live in a town with a population of 500 maybe with no fast food or stop lights. My options are very limited here, i appreciate your help, so octane boost is out of the question?

Remember that most octane boosters claim too increase your effective octane X numbers of points. THey do, BUT if the company is claiming 6 points, that means you can go from 91 octane too 91.6 effective octane. Definately not 96 as one would asume by the label. Race gas is not available here in Hatfield / Mccoy country either. If it's not local, then it's crazy for me too build an engine that requires it....

You can buy it in five gallon pales and have it shipped to you.
