DO ANY OF YOU HAVE THE COMET 103 drive (primary) Clutch?
HOW DO YOU LIKE IT AND HOW DOS IT COMPARE TO THE POLARIS ONE>
DO YOU THINK IT WILL HOLD UP TO A HPD 75HP race kit.

The reason why i ask is because i got a new polaris one last year and it is not rebuildable already.
It is the 2nd polaris primary In one year. the next will be the 3rd.Also it isn't going bad because it's not lined up ,it's just that when I ride the scrammy I ride it hard and use it for stuff I would never use the pred for.
I don't ride my scrammy as much anymore because i have a predator now but, with the winter here I would rather ride the scrammy because it is better in the snow + it has hand warmers and a seat warmer which makes it a nicer ride.

Thanks dude! hopefully they will see this and give me a idea how it works because, I just had my polaris dealer get me one and they are going to make up the differance in price from the stock clutch at cost to them. so anyway it goes as long as it is as good as the stock it will do, I guess?
BUT, hopefully it will last!!! either way it won't see as mch use because the predator is so COOL!

Well, both Scrambled and Modquad have full HPD race mods. I guess it is set up more for drag racing

I haven't been able toup date my profile even though I have tried but, I to have the Full HPD race kit that is bored .80 over stock. it ripped with the stock set up but, I was ruinning stock primarys fast. I have checked the alinement many times and that wasn't it. I thoght that maybe it had to do with the upper motor mount braking but, after fixxing it and a new clutch it still got broke.
the stock clutch just couldn't stand up to the abuse of 70+Hp. Also it seems to me that after I put the TEAM driven clutch on it hurt the proformance of the primary because of the engine bracking that the team Clutch has.
Atfer talking to aaen and reading the Aaen clutch tunning book. I think that I made a good choice in getting the Comet Clutch Ordered.
Now all I will have to do is tune it . Hopefully it will use the same weights and spring but, if it don't i have many different wieghts and springs to play with.
BUT, IF ANYONE HAS SOME INSIGHT ON THE RIGHT SET UP FOR A HPD RACE KIT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW>
THANKS MATT

Seems like something must be wrong, I know lots of people that have the hpd race mod that have no problems running the stock primary. Ken (modquad) took his back off because he was drag racing it and with the setup that came with it, it wasn't running like he wanted it too. Same way with Darrell at hpd, he said he will be doing some testing on it to see how it works with the racemod and what weights and springs work best.

I don't think that anything was wrong it's just that I used that quad almost everyday. Also N.J has lot of sand and it rips up everything. SO i made a filter over the intake and so far so good but, the clutch needs to be replaced,so I though that I should try something better.
Also it wasn't like it was getting ruined in a weeks time it was more like a half years time.

Do you have a torque plate? Maybe that would help keep everytinh in alignment
