you should take a good look at the kodiak.. very good quad, been around awhile so the problems are mostly worked out already.. this is the bruins first year, and even tho its a yamaha ( ) it could still have problems that havent been found yet. the rancher is offered in many dif versions and is a bullet proof machine. plenty of power with both.. but take a look at the kodiak 400/450

I have a Rancher TM, and have recently ridden a Bruin 2x4. The Bruin has some features
my Rancher doesn't, and a little bit more power and top end, but the Rancher has better
acceleration from a dead stop. The Bruin has a belt drive, and I prefer gears. The belt
may be the reason for a tad slower accel.
I got the '03 Rancher for $3790 OTD. My friend paid $3700 for his Bruin, but I dont't know if that
was with tax, title and shipping or not. He never said.

Thanx for the info. I like all quads and I havent drivin one of them. Iam going to look at all three of them this week maby tommrow. I like the Kodiak more because for $600 more you get way more featurers than any of them. I willtry to drive them. I like shifting to, but like the auto for mudd, and snow. I whitch one of the three will be better at plowing ? Thanx ~ CHRIS ~

Some people have no trouble with belt drives and plowing. Others replace belts every year they have
to plow a lot. From what I have seen, I wouldn't want a belt for plowing or any other heavy loading
use.
If you get to drive a Rancher and a Bruin, note the handling differences. The Rancher has quicker
steering radius and a lower center of gravity. The Bruin and Kodiak have higher ground clearance,
and therefore higher center of gravity. I had a Kodiak a few years back, it was a great quad,
powerful and fairly fast, but it was top heavy and tippy. It wouldn't do what I wanted it to do.
I sold it at a loss, and bought a Bayou 300, which would. But the Rancher does it better.
