what are the best mods for the z400 suspension and motor wise, also where can i find a stroker kit? thanks.

 

The Z motor despirately needs to breathe. I did a K&N with Outerwears, vented airbox lid, FMF PowerBomb header and Ti-4 Muffler. Gave the motor the bottom end that the stock bike lacked. Top and middle are nice too. The stock shocks are pretty good, but my rear blew a few days after it went off warranty (naturally!). So I went with Works Steelers with cans on the front and Ultracross on the rear.

Yoshimura is the expert on this engine if you want to stroke and bore it.

 

that sux you blew your rear shock. the rear shock on the z isn't bad. but the front shocks suck. i own a z and i plan on buying some cheap Works shocks for the front. just something a little better.

 

Get A Yosh or FMF exhaust and add a atvparts.biz Power Kit this will wake it up. If you need more then add a Wiseco 450 piston, Porting and hot cams. Or better yet just have InlandPowerSports.com build up your engine for max power.

 

Hey ReconRanger, sucks about the rear shock, but it would not have been covered under warranty anyway. My brother in law just blew out the rear on his Z250, still under warranty, but Suzuki told him that it's not covered. Dealer wants $780 for a replacement, Works is like $470.
