don't think there's enough power... could b more coem stock with aftermarket parts liek the c-dales u know... i think they do... i raced and beat a new 450 with a modded warrior that wasn't even mine!

The person on the YFZ doesn't know how to ride then. They are awesome trail machines, and they aren't too bad for racing either, being all stock that is. I love mine, and wouldn't trade it for my 400 warrior i sold to get the YFZ. The power is good stock, great if the exhaust plug taken out, cam mod done, jetted with no airbox lid.
How exactly did you beat a YFZ on a warrior?

I love my YFZ450. I have beaten modded banshees in drag races even when my bike was stock I was hangin with them. And I know I could blow them away in any kinda of racing that included turns and jumps.

W/ the proper gearing, 13:1 compression and a pipe, they're animals on trials. I come from the dirtbike world and don't (or didn't) like riding trails (or sand for that matter) until I got the YFZ on 'em. Now I have all sorts of riding options - track/trail/sand.
I think I posted something here after the first trail experience I had w/ mine some time ago.
Edit: I forgot to mention cam mod too.

I have either owned or ridden every sport quad worth riding and came to the conclusion that my Cannondale was the best handling machine built. That includes the somewhat built 250R that I had.
Now I have a YFZ450 and can honestly say it is by far the best handling machine in stock trim. The front shocks are awesome, the rears are ok but do kick a little in the rough stuff. Because it is so low and narrow when it does kick the machine moves underneath you instead of bouncing you around like many others I have ridden.

Speedy, Speedy, Speedy... sit down son... I know your a kid so your post can somewhat be understood but here is a chance to grow up a bit... please do not get involved in areas you so obviously know nothing about and for that matter making up stories that are so obviously unbelievable that you couldn't dupe a blonde 3 sheets to the wind isn't the way to earn respect either.
Diescarred I'm a bit leery of anyone who says a Raptor is better in trail riding also... In my somewhat limited experience attending CC events and racing in them on my YFZ, it is much better suited than a Raptor. In fact there is only 1 Raptor in the entire Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Assoc. and that includes ALL classes. I don't want to diss the rappy but the ONLY people I hear say good things about them post on the somewhat biased Yamaha forum.
So to actually answer the question, The YFZ is a dream for cross country ... Bill Ballance even rode one in his last event according to ATVSport.
As far as power goes... if you are trail riding, power is the last thing on your upgrade agenda. Suspension is where its at and thats what the YFZ offers... not to mention it is extremely fast through 3rd and 4th gears. Midrange is where the YFZ excels and that is the most important area when actually racing and not showing off out on the dunes.

superstar,
from my undrstandingg ( corect me if Im wrong) the yfz is the WR motor, and the cams in the WR are the same as the YZ, except the exhaust cam is retarted 1 tooth, so all a person needs to do is take off the valve cover and advance the tooth 1 time.
