Whats the quad scene like over there in the USA??? Going form these forums and other searches on the net Im taking it quads have taken off in a big way. Over here in sunny Scotland the quad scene is still relatively small although my friends and I are of the opinion that this is the tip of the ice-berg and in the next few years it will really take off.

As you can see from this forum as well as the many other forums that are out there, the "quad scene" is alive and well over here as well as many other parts of the world and growing by leaps and bounds. The manufacturers are finally starting to listen to the quad public and are producing some very nice and competetive, off the showroom floor, quads. Both the sport as well as utility type quads are becoming more sufisticated yet user friendly. More power yet lighter weight. And the add-ons are endless.
Good luck with the quad scene in Scotland and welcome to the forum.

Since about 1999-2000, quads have really taken off. It is surely more of a 'family' sport these days,,,,and more mainstream,,,than say the 1980's and early 1990's,,,,when it was more of a cult sport (new, and restricted by the Feds, which caused most manufacturers to put their ATV ideas on the back burner).
Are you heavily restricted on where you can ride in Scotland,,,,or do you have free ATV reighn of that beautiful country?

I hear that Fox will soon be releasing kilts specifically designed for riding quads.
The day you see some kilted guy's plumbers crack whilst riding, you'll know you've made the big time!

It very much depends on the area you are in. Soe local councils dont mind, the area Im in dont really bother about you riding, but the neighbouring district have a real bee in their hat about it. I have joined a Quad owners club who use large areas of private land to go trail riding on. Hopefully as quads grow over here so will the access to land.
P.s. I reallly wouldnt fancy coming off with a kilt on - what would the neighbours say lol

4x4 bikes are popular down here in the deep south. Can't go anywhere w/o seeing a Rancher!

About 10 to 15 years ago Personal Watercraft were the hottest thing. Harley's then got real popular (and they still are). Seems like people are now getting into ATV's.
I think the Honda 400EX, DS650 and Raptor have really brought more people into the sport out here. In other areas the newer larger, more comfortable and option loaded Utility ATV's have drawn people in.
Seems to be one of those sports that the more people I run into the more people I find that are into it.

yup
90% of the riders I meet have only been involved in ATVs for the last 3 years (at best).
Ths sport is really experiencing growing pains in the US.
