Default Who knows about the Trinity or Sparks YFZ Kits - Bore &/or stroke?

Anyone heard anything about these?

I heard Trinity is offering a 500 kit for the YFZ? Is this true?

Also heard they are both offering something like a 465?

Are these kits bore only or bore and stroke?

How much HP gain?

That's not bad.

But how will those keep up with the 70-100HP Raptors???

And the 100+ HP Banshee's????

Do you know what Spark's says they get out of a 690 Raptor (HP?) I am interested in comparing dyno numbers of the 690 to what they are looking to get out of the YFZ (every Dyno is different and I think you need some kind of baseline for comparison.) What bore is that?

I think Trinity is offering a 470 (98mm Bore) for about $2k. I had heard they are claiming 57 HP (but, I have also heard their dyno is a little higher than some of the others.

In any case, it sounds like we should be seeing some low to mid 50 HP YFZ's out soon (maybe even by Jan. at Glamis )

I thought there were already a bunch out there.

Mine's a 467 (or 470 if you please) @ +3mm over (98mm bore) & stock stroke.

Selector: Who did your bore and re-nik? Did you send it off to someone or do it yourself? Who did your port work? Any valve modification(s)?

I don't think I have run agains any of the modified Y's but, don't know for sure. What is kind of difference do you see on the hills you shoot (how many bike lengths?) I think your hill is pretty long so probably exponential gains!

Are you beating the piped and ported (not alky or drag) Shee's?

What compression piston are you running? 13:1 Are you running 110 or 100 race gas?

And just where are all these 70-100 HP Raptors? I don't think there's enough of them to worry about.
And for those 100 HP banshees. No ATV made today is going to catch those. and probably never will. there in a different league.

Those banshee's are bad.

But the 70HP Raptors are definetly becoming more common. Where I drag race there is always 2-5 727 Rappy's, and once in awhile you'll find a 770. So they are definetly becoming noticed.

Millenium Technologies bored and re-nik.

Who did your port work?
None done.

Any valve modification(s)?
None.

I've only run the machine twice since the big bore:

Halloween @ Glamis on methanol
T-day weekend here on gas

I ran "emergency" jetting on both outings. I had just put the alky carb on the night before we left for Glamis and had only time enough in the field to get in to run at least well enough to hit the hill. The T-day outing had me switching back to gas w/ a new wide-open intake and running in mid 30 degree temps. So I doubt I've seen "best of" performance out of the machine. I'm probably not far off though.

I think your hill is pretty long so probably exponential gains!
I did run down and pass a Raptor w/ everything done other than displacement and a 150lb pilot on T-day.

This is the best comparision I can give:

Running the "banshee hill" (the hill on the far right w/ the pit to start in) @ Glamis I was running @ least (4) quads ahead of the standard modded YFZs (pipe/cam mod/lid/etc) and pulling away in 4th gear. The closest one to me had a pilot that was about 165 w/ gear and I was about 210 w/ gear. Given a better start i.e. able to control the front end and stay on the throttle the gap would be wider.

Remember also, I'm not as good in the whoops on a quad as some of you guys - this is my first quad. A better pilot than myself could really lay the hammer down w/ this machine.

Are you beating the piped and ported (not alky or drag) Shee's?
I don't know. I've only run against a few shees @ Glamis and beat 'em all but (1). This new setup is very tough to keep under control coming out of the hole and that's where he was getting me. The rest of the way up, we stayed equally apart. I ate a piped/bored/ported shee over T-day, but I think that machine was in less than top performing condition.

What compression piston are you running? 13:1 Are you running 110 or 100 race gas?
12.5:1 compression
91 oct when running stock 38mm carb or methanol when running 42mm carb. Takes about 45 minutes to swap.

Hope that answers 'em all.
