Default Should I go to the dealer for initial oil change? $180!!

I have the 03 BAJA and am finished with the break-in.I bought the shop manual so I could work on it myself. When I asked the dealer about the initial "oil-change/check-up, he told me it was $180.I asked why it was so much?? He said they also check and adjust the valves too.
Should I take it to him or is this something I can do myself?
Is there something to look out for if I do it myself?
Thanks guys,

All they do is oil change, valve adjustment, lube, & inspect everything. You can have them do the valve adjustment for $40 to $50 and do the rest yourself.

If you have the manual, do it yourself. All you will need out of the ordinary is a feeler gauge which is like $5. You can do a search of past topics for valve adjustment, it is very easy. Also all they do is make sure everything is tight. That is important, but any trained monkey can do it. The things that I know of to check for sure are the front a-arm mounting bolts, the preload on the rear carrier bearings, and the two small bolts that hold the bearing plate at the bottom of the steering stem. If you have any questions, there is always someone here who can help.

Just be 100% sure that you do have the valves checked. This will make the biggest difference in how the machine starts/runs/everything.

Thanks guys,
I am going to stick to my guns and do all the work myself. That's why I spent nearly a $100 for the shop manual.I will buy my oil and filter from them and after finding out which sensor is bad I will buy it from them too.I am pretty sure it is the temperature sensor.
One thing that puzzles me is why the water would ruin the sensor. If I dry it out it should work again.Right?
Ride safe!

You might double check this, but some dealerships require you to pay them to do the first oil change as well.

There is no FREE anything. It's 200 and up at other dealers. This one will do it for $180. They were very clear on this when I bought it at the dealer.I paid $6,000 out the door. They want $235 for the service. The $180 is from another dealer..Even the Bombardier paperwork stated that, the first visit, or any vist, nothing was included after purchase.
It's the adjusting of the vales that has me??? If it's brand new, runs awsome, why would the valves need to be adjusted after about 15hrs?The link above to the BMW FAQ states that after 6,000 miles the valves were checked and then adjusted.
I am thinking, changing the oil and filter. Then taking a multimeter and finding/fixing the sensor that is making the red light stay on.
It runs great.Except for the idiot light staying on.I am going to get that fixed this week.I think I ruined my temperature sensor from washing too close to the sensor with hose gun. I am sure of this.I rode it for a weekend.I came home on a Sunday and rode it around a little at my house.Everything was great. Then I washed it and put it away.I spit shined it too.I wanted it to look like new again.I mean it is only 2 months old, right?!?When I took it out after 5 days, the light stayed on.
Reading around this forum,I found this to be common if not careful with the hose. There may even be a chance I can get in on the 04 recal boot that covers the sensor.
