Default trailboss 330 vs trailblazer 250

Hi, which quad is the best overall for trailriding? Already have a '01 Trailblazer and like it very much but was thinking about the Trailboss 330 any advantages or disadvantages?

Thanks,
Gary

They both have about the same trail manor with the exception of the trailboss being a little heavier, and quieter. The Trailblazer is a little more peppy and you can put tons of mods on it if you get bored. I like the trailboss for just cruising around but am able to rip around on the trailblazer. The trailboss can pull better and haul more and the liquid cooling is a plus. It all comes down to personal preference. They are both great machines.

yea the trailblazer is much more peppyer, i own a trailboss and i ride with a kid who owns a trailblazer. I like how its quiter and doesnt smell bad, also like the torque to get up hills without going 40, the trials i ride on have everything, sand, clay, hills and mud, my trailboss does alot better in mudding than the trailblazer, also if ur lookin for a atv to do light mudding get the trailboss and put mud tires on(im putting on 24 Gators and 23's up front) but if u want to go fast on trails get the trailboss but if u like really fast in wide open spaces i suggest another atv.

ps. oh yea the boss has a slightly stiffer rear spring for hauling things around

Hope this helps!

I really like the looks of the '03 & '04 Trail BLazer - we happen to own two Trail Bosses - an '03 and an '04 we just purchased.

I would have bought the Trail Blazer for our second one - but, it is 2 cycle. You must take that into consideration. In Socal, you are required to have a sticker for certain off road areas, can't get this with a 2 cycle - also, 2 cycle's require more care.

.... but I sure do like the looks of the Trail Blazer - why can't they just put the 330 engine in it!

Thanks for the replies, one more question, is the Trailboss an auto transmission like the Trailblazer or semi auto or manual clutch?

Hi The trail boss is automatic and unless it is a new 2004 it is not liquid cooled. I have a 2003 trail boss and it is oil cooled with fan assist. I love my boss for trail riding and playing around. I wanted a 4 stroke and that is why i went with the boss. I also know lots of people who love their trail blazers.....It is your choice drive both and then make your choice

Good luck.

Hi, both are auto tranmissions. Question is, how much longer are they going to make 2 strokes, and if they do will you be able to get on federal and state land after 2006? That could effect the resale value. I would go with the trailboss. I had one for 2 years and did not have any trouble at all.

If you're looking to give the Boss a little more pep, here is a suggestion. We dropped a tooth on the front sprocket. It will spin the tires with ease now. Still doesn't wheelie, but the quick burst at the push of the throttle is entertaining. You do lose a little top end, but where we ride it doesn't really matter. It has made it a more fun machine to ride around on. It won't quite beat my Predator though....lol.

You can get one from Sprocket Specialists.

Having both (325 TBoss), the biggest difference I have seen is the torque. I've had my nephew on the Boss and I was on the Blazer trying to cross a creek bed. The Boss made it up with no problems, the Blazer took a couple of tries. Also, going over logs the Boss did a better job. The Blazer is better on the trails, much quicker out of corners, off the line. Would really like to trade the Boss for a Scrambler. Santa, if you're listening, I've been good! (OK there was that one time. But it is legal in some counties)
