LT250R Questions

I have found a Quadracer for $400 but it needs a front end, A-Arms and Suspension that I know of for sure. I haven't seen the quad but I was wondering if it would even be worth going to see. I ride trails and I'm not sure if it would be a good bike for me. I guess I just need to know if it would be a worthwhile investment with a good return. The reason I am considering this bike is because I ride a CR125 and I love the 2-Stroke power. Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

They make good trail quads, with a wide powerband. Why not take a look, heck if the a arms need replaced you save that money on the purchase price then go buy some +2's. Hard to go wrong with $400 if it has a good frame and engine.

I gave $350 for the 91 model I am restoring. Even after a rod kit, piston and bore job, new tires, seat cover, front bumper, new silencer and other things I am still going to be under $1200.00 on all of it. They are great bikes and I will be using this as a woods bike and a rider at the dunes.

IF you have a chance to get a 91 for that cheap, get off you computer and go get it.

I really don't want to just hurry and buy it for a project and then be dissappointed with the results. If I am going to buy it I want to be sure it's what I want. I'm just leary of the handling and reliability of these machines as compared to the newer 4-strokes. I don't want to buy it and it become a money pit when I can spend the same money on a newer quad with more aftermarket possibilities in the long run. Any of you know good places for aftermarket parts for the LT, maybe that'll help me decide...

I ride my LT and my TRX in the woods and i think they go just as good as a 4 stroke if you know how to ride them and if you were to get a 4 stroke you would miss the power and acceleration of 2 strokes. Try LRD for a-arms and all of that stuff. I searched around for LT parts and to me i think LRD has the biggest selection.

The first thing you need to go do is look at it and go from there. If the front end is all bent up then walk away from it. If you can put a-arms and shocks on it then go for it. You dont need aftermarket arms on those bikes and the cracking of the frames were mostly those who were raced hard. A 2-cycle is a cinch to rebuild and the powervalve motor makes a ton of bottom end power.
