Is the YFZ worth $900 more then the Predator?

When I had my Predator, I could not of asked for a better atv, and at the same time my brother had a Z-400, and he really liked it to. And now with all the up-dates to the 04 model, the Predator seem's even better. Well my brother is looking at getting a new ride this spring. At first he had the Predator in mind, but with all the hype on the YFZ, he's thinking of going that route now. He want's to get the most out of a stock atv that he can. He want's to race in the GNCC stock class, and want's to have the fastest trail atv out there. The 450R is not in the mix due to no electric start, so it's between the Predator and YFZ. He can get the Predator for $900 less then the YFZ. So he wants to know, is the YFZ worth the extra, or use the extra money saved to get the Elka front shocks, nerf bars, and bumper for the Predator. In the stock class, he can't do anything to the engine, so he can't put the money into the motor. So is the YFZ worth it or not?

Predator.....cowboy (wide) seat-tank junction and the headpipe rusts upon purchase. Oh yea....you cannot shift the machine without letting off. Looks about as nice as the YFZ though. I would asume the Pred has a softer suspension for the trailrider as well. I would be concerned about the heavy front end as well on the Pred.

I own (2) YFZs and a close friend has a pred that I've ridden. If your bro has the dough, I would, without question, strongly recommend the YFZ hands down over the other brand.

yamaha hands down. I would be surprised if the predator was still running after 1 race.
why do i think the predator front end is heavy? I have ridden most of the quads out there and the predator is the hardest to pick the front end up at speed compared to the raptor/z-400/yfz450 etc.
