Will we ever see a True Sport/Racer from Polaris?

The Scrambler is decent, but its over weight, the front Strut suspension just isn't cut out for racing, and although I don't necessarily agree, lotsa people say the auto isn't suited for racing. It shouldn't be such a big deal for Polaris to come out with a 400CC 2 Stroke Sport/Race Quad. I mean the Scram 400 2x4 would rock if it wasn't for the desperate need to get on the fat boy program and beef up the front suspension. Polaris competes and wins with PWC's and Sleds, why not ATV's? So, Polaris, make us a 350 to 400 Pound machine. Use the 400 2 Stroke in the Scarmbler 400, give us double A-Arm front suspension, keep the auto tranny if you must, prove its capable of racing.
Oh well, I'm done babbling. Whats your comments on this? Should Polaris consider making a Light Weight Automatic Race/Sport machine? How would you approach the project if you were in charge? What would you do and not do?

guy,
I agree. It seems that the High Performance Sport/Racing ATV Market is coming back full swing. 400EX 2 years ago, Bombadier last year, Raptor this year, rumors of the KXF250 from Kawi to hit production next year, the Cannondale FX400, Suzuki will be back most likely, Gas Gas has a nice 300CC 2 Stroke Thumper in the works, but I haven't heard anything, not even a rumor, on the Polaris Front. They need to do something. There is a strong market IMHO for Race Machines.

My dealer doubts it, at least in the near future 1-3 years. He doesn't get anyone asking for anything like the 400ex. but that is up here , were it is mostly mud and tight wooded trails and with out 4 wheel drive sometimes it can suck to use the trails, especially in the spring. I do think that Polaris could make a killer auto racer though.

I don't think you're gonna see anything new from Polaris until someone adds 4WD to a sport bike and cuts into their Scrambler sales. I read an interview where they asked a guy from Cannondale if they were considering producing a 4WD version of the FX400 and he didn't confirm or deny the possibility. When something like that happens, Polaris will get a taste of real competition and might respond with something new.

I read in one of the mags that Polaris is testing a 700cc sport quad. I dont' know the name of the mag for sure so I won't say. But it is one of the new issues. No other info was there.
