Default 85 lt250r swing arm

Hi,
My brother recently got an 85 lt250r. He needs to buy a new swingarm for it, though. Who makes swingarms for the lt, and where can I find them? I searched around but couldn't find that many. Thanks for the help!

If you want you can put an 87-90 swingarm in.......bolts right in.

I've heard that it's a pain to adjust the chain slack on the 87 swingarm. Go for an 88 and up.

Plenty of swingarms on Ebay from time to time. People say that the 87-92 are stronger, but they are all a pain in the a$$ to adjust. I would stick with a 85/86 swingarm.

The 85-86's crack more easily. Mine cracked underneath the carrier, near the skid plate nut. I welded a pretty sturdy 1/4" thick gussett in there and haven't had any problems since.

Another thing to consider is that if you switch to the newer swingarm, you will need the axle carrier as well.

My swing arm has a gusset welded as well, and it has held up under pretty hard riding conditions. Your only gonna crack a swingarm if you are riding really hard and doing big jumps. Also, true, another carrier will be needed.

If you want a stock one, pick one up off ebay. If you've got the cash, Nacs racing is the only place I can find an aftermarket one, although I bet there are other places.
