Default ridin in water

I have an '02 quadrunner 500. i like to ride in water that is, i guess, moderately high. there hasn't been any problems yet, and i want to know what i should look out for (as far as the well being of my machine goes), like water getting into places they shopuldn't.

2nd question. what are the differences between the vinny and my 02 quadrunner 500?

thank you,
mike

the water will get in your engine through the muffler and break it u get in water above your muffler but if u ride alot u might want to get a snorkel kit.

First off, you CAN go in water over your exhaust, just keep the revs up. Water can not enter if the exhaust fumes are coming out, but if you let 'er stall and your over the exhaust you could be breaking the bank. What you cant do is go over your intake. I used to do this stuff all the time. If you air box has a little snorkle going up to the top of your gas take (most do), that is your limit. You can go over the air box, just make sure its sealed, and you dont go over the snorkle. Your metal parts will NOT rust from the water, they will rust if they get chipped and you go in the water. Best suggestion is to repaint ( or enamel) any surface that gets scratched, dinged, or chipped. Make sure all your CV joints and boots are lubed and in good condition with no tears, you'll pay out the butt for that too. If water were to get into your engine you would know it. It would run HORRIBLE. The one thing you have to do A LOT if you ride in a lot of water is change your oil and diff fluids. If the maual says to do them every 100 hours do them every 25-35 hours.
