I am wonding why Polaris hasn't stuffed thier 700 twin into a scrambler frame? I would think that engine with a updated,and reworked tranny(like the V-force) would be a great and copetitive machine.



Any thoughts?

BTW, how does a Predator500 engine differ from a Scrammy 500 engine? i thought they were the same?

 

The pred motor is DOHC, I believe. The Scram motor is a SOHC. I know of a guy that put a SP700 motor in a scram. It pushes hard in the corners and isnt any faster, but has unbelieveable low end torque.

 

Your right the pred is DOHC, i think it makes 45hp

 

I'm looking for a new ATV. I was thinking of either the 500 Scrambler or the 500 Vinson, can you guys help? I want something that can eat up the trails but can still handle the mud, creek beds, and hills. I will not be using is for work but I would like to keep up with my friends on their big 700s. They go in some pretty hairy places but then again they don't seem to have as much fun on the trails either. Any ideas before I spend all my hard earned money on a new ATV? Thanks.

 

A Scrambler should suit you well for what you described.

 

I went out to Haspen IN today and man was it muddy. Gooey stickey tarry goopy muddy mud. All I can say is I love my scrammy 500 4x4. 2wd you can play and do donuts and slide around and 4wd and you cant get stuck. Light throttle and you can just putt up gooey muddy hills. Or you can hammer it and sling mud for 30 feet with all four tires. Great fun today. Anyone interested in washing it for me?
