DYNO RESULTS
#1
last week i reported that i dynoed my 760 after installing new cams from pami, to my surprise it only pulled 45hp after rejetting ect. this was with the mbrp "race pipe". after thinking that i need to take down the motor and replace the head or worse, my son and i went trail riding and put back on the stock pipe WOW!! it felt like a real runner again. so today i took it back to the dyno and ran it, with the bone stock pipe complete with the spark arrestor and stock tip. " IT MADE 15HP MORE ON THE FIRST RUN THAN THE " MBRP RACE PIPE". what a kick in the pants this was without even checking the air fuel levels or any more jetting.with the mbrp pipe the hp fell off right after 6000rpm all the way to 9000 flat line no increase. the stock pipe let it make power all the way past 8800. not that i plan on running my stock exhaust on a built motor, but i almost tore this thing down because of the poor performance of the mbrp "race pipe" . now i'm waiting on the dual pipes to come out. lesson learned not all parts named "RACE" are performance basded. hey that rhymes

I have said it a hundred times but I'll say it again...
"Stock is best"
I know that crushes everyones dreams of building the super mad quad but in reality, unless you are doing major engine work and crap, which you did, aftermarket pipes hinder more than help. Just my 2¢.

you know you'r right about the stock thing!! changing anything from stock to increase power is never a sure bet or easy, but when it finally comes together it all seems to be worth it

I took off this crappy Power Tech 4,
cuz it sucks more d!ck than a dirty wh*re
It chaps my a$$ to put it on and throw it in the trash,
Now gotta find a different one and I'm out my hard earned cash
We got Graydon, CT, Alba, and LTE,
Gonna pick the one that's best for ME
We'z gonna gonna forget all about that M-B-R-P,
got screwed once, not gonna happen again the way I see
I gotta try to be the fastest to the top of the hill,
And no crappy exhaust is gonna stop me if I'm footin the bill.............
May be some day I'll grow up to be a famous white rapper,
write rhymes about race exhaust while sittin on the crapper.......
LMAO!!!

a small correction on the results: the 15hp difference was in the top most rpm range between the two pipes. the stocker held the hp most all the way to the top. where as the mbrp drop off @ 6000 rpm. i'm not saying that the stock pipe is better than all the aftermarket pipes made (i have run both rwr and graydon with good results) just that the mbrp most definently sucks on higher rpm !!!!

Yes jeffroe thats is what i have been trying to say the mbrp makes good torque on the bottom it lacks dearly on the top end but most preformance pipes make a noticable differance!!!!! but if it makes you feel any better it dose look good on the mantel it is a work of art
