2000 Honda Rancher ES
#1
I have a 2000 Honda Rancher ES and the transmission is stuck in 5th gear. I have tried to shift gears with the electric shifter and the manual shifter with no luck. I have rocked the Rancher back and forth and it will still not shift. Help!

some of the early honda rancher 350 es had shifting fork problems, i dont knew what years were envolved but i do knew it was before 2001 because i held off buying one untill the 2001 were out. i believe there was a recall or something, there was also a front end part recall something about a arm welds or parts in that area. get your serial # and call your local honda dealer about it. it may have or should have been part of honda recall.

Thanks for the info. I worked on the machine for several hours and took it to my local ATV repairman. I borrowed my brother-in-law's Honda Fourtrax and went to Vienna(1200 acres of God's Country) with the Navidad River running through it.
Thanks again.

As roscoe69 points out, you may want to check with your local Honda franchised dealer, it seems to me they are covering those repairs yet. Or if you can find those service bulletins on the web somewhere, you can check the ending date yourself.
