Honda 300 TRX 4x4 Conversion
#1
I have a 1995 300 TRX 2x4 in excellent condition, love the bike!!!! I also have a 1995 300 4x4 that's in decent shape with a bad motor. Would it be hard to convert the 2x4 to a 4x4 using the two bikes? May seem like a dumb question but I don't have any money in the 4x4! Thanks for the input!!!!

Since you have both machines is the side case(2x4) of the engine on the shift side of the motor different because the 4X4 parts will have to be removed and then transferred to the good engine, 2x4. It seems like this would work

I have the 98 300 4x4 model and just off the top of my head in the past looking at the 2x4 models they are almost the same but I assume the side case from the 4x4 will have to be moved to the 4x2 model and that would be the only thing I can thing of that might not be correct, mounting holes etc.
Gosh your lucky you have both machines. Just off the top of my head maybe some gaskets will need to be replaced that are old because of the transfer

Are you happy with your 98 300 4x4? I have heard nothing but good about the 300! Bought my 300 2x4 from a farmer, absolutely mint, even the original tires, and always stored in a heated shop. I just really want a 4x4. Thanks!!!!

I purchased the Honda new and I know without going to look at the log book it might have about 450 hours on it. Its not the fastest machine and its a pure work/utility machine but that's what I needed at that time. I have zero problems with it and out of the quads I have I would keep it over the others. Honda should have never stopped making this machine.
I use ours to pull around a self powered 50 inch bushhog and is more comfortable that a tractor out in the field because it has suspension.
I would think long and hard though before transferring the 4x4 stuff over to the 2x4 model. I would ride the 2x4 because you will loose a slight bit of fun factor going 4x4 but I don't need this because I have other machines.

I had a 94 2x4, But I sold it. I had a question about it. I got it stuck in snow. And before I got it stuck it was running around 45. Then after i got it unstuck I was strugling to do 30. Thats the only reason I sold it.
