Default My C-dale is a piece of crap

I have had nothing but headaches with this cannondale. I've bought numerous 100-300 dollar parts trying to get it running again and when I buy something, something else breaks. Now I just got it all back together and I have an intermittent <--(sp?) spark. I'll turn the motor over and I'll only get a backfire every once in a while. I'm guessing that the coil is not getting the trigger it needs from the ecm. It has a good hot terminal but the trigger terminal doesn't get hot when the starter button is pushed. Does anyone out there know what is going on? I'm sick and tired of trying to troubleshoot this thing. If anyone knows of a good shop in Oregon that will still work on cannondales let me know.

Check your battery, a low battery will cause it to backfire and not start. Your battery should be at about 12.6 volts. Also check all your ground connections as this will cause similar problems.

The battery is an Odyssey dry cell. It is not a problem of battery. It is a coil, or a connection problem. I hate electrical systems, which is why I was asking for a shop name.

I don't know of any dale shops in oregon. It doesn't matter what abttery you have, if the battery is below voltage then the fuel injection system won't run right and cause popping and backfiring and even stall the bike. All you need to do is check the voltage coming from the battery if it is below 12 volts then you need to put it on the charger. Easy way to also tell is jump start the quad with a car battery , if the problem goes away then its just a low battery. Usually this is the problem with the typ of issues your having. Also check all your ground connections, especially the one by the fule regulator, this comming loose or being very dirty will cause this also.
