Default Scrambler paddles

Does anyone have a good sugestion about paddles for my scrammy? I went to Sand Mt. NV> this week and that thing with the stock tires was awful!!! I kind of expected it but it was wosre than I thought it would be. I saw a set of 8 paddle haulers but was wondering if maybe a curved would be better?

Chris

don't worry about answering I just found a few threads on it

Here is what I know. The Skat Trak 22x11x10 Edge 8 paddle (v paddle)work extremely well on the Scrambler 500. The Kenda 22x11x10 8 paddle (straight paddle) work well. I now own the SandStar, but have not had a chance to run them yet. I'll let you know when I do. I was suposed to go riding NYD, but 8"s of snow kept me from driving to the dunes. It really depend on the riding you want to do. The V blades give great trail, turning, and side hill characteristics. The straight paddle offer superior hookup for drags and hill shooting. Stick with the 22" tires for the 500. It has so much torque you'll bury the smaller tires before they can hookup, plus you will have the stock ratio for the 4x4.

Hey fislab please do respond to how the Sand Stars do cause I was seriously thinking about some. I have heard really good things about them. Hope you get to ride soon. I know how it feels to get dune fever.

I run 22/11/10 10 paddle haulers, I had 8 paddle haulers first but like the 10's better. With the 4x4 turning under power is no problem......

4/110 is the Honda bolt pattern, 4/4 is what my Scrambler is (rear)..

The SandStars proved to be awsome. They are great tires. I had a bad tire gauge Saturday at the dunes and was running them at 6 lbs, not 2.5 like I thought and was not too impressed. Went back Sunday and used my good tire gauge and ran them at 2.5 lbs like I meant to do Saturday, and what a difference. These things plain hook up!

hey fishslab

Is it worth it to bring my quads up to the Florence dunes on a spring trip? I know they are good dunes but I will have my 5yo on his pred 90 with me and wanted to make sure there would be places for him

It is definitley worth the trip. Florence, Winchester, Coosbay, Sand Lake are all a quick trip from each other. Florence has something for everybody. My kids ride with us no problem. Let me know when you come, and we might be able to hook up or something.
