Default stupid clips!!!

i hate how on the jap bikes they use clips instead of screws, couldnt they have copied of the american companies for once! have any of you ever replaced them with screws? i took my plastics off, to clean the bike...i got so annoyed that i just broke every clip. i plan to go to the home depot and get screws to replace them, have any of you ever dont this?

Default stupid clips!!!

Never had problems with mine, I just use my finger and punch down the middle of the clip to release the pressure and the clips pop right out.

Never had a problem with the clips on my Z250. I like them a whole lot better than screws. All you need is your fingers to get them in and out.

another advantage clips have is that they break in the event of an accident, rather than having screws or bolts rip through your plastic.

If you really want to get rid of the clips, I think aluminum rivets would be a better way to go, than using screws. They wont rust, are cheap and are easy to remove, and dont leave a sharp point on the backside, to cut your hand on.

Speaking of bolts coming loose, my parking break bolt came loose in the back, on the swing arm, where it is attached to the rear break, and now my Parking Break doesnt work because that lever is all the way foward now and it's way too hard to pull it back tight and then tighten the bolt back up.
