Wow....I wish I knew how to help ya. That doesn't look good at all. I'm sure someone will be giving you some info real quick.
Seems like you've been trying to get this thing going for forever now, it will be worth in the end, I guarentee it.

Wow..how the hell did you do that? It looks almost like the tit on the back of the cam gear wasn't in the hole on the cam face when it was installed. Then was jerked back and forth. Maybe??? Looks like yer gonna need another cam at least. What does the back of the cam gear look like. Is the nipple gone off the back of it?

Well what did you do that for?
Isn't that piece part of the cam? Looks like you will be needing a new cam! Bummer.
How's the cam sprocket look?

The cam gear is fine. What is bumming me out is I used a magnetic telescope tool and I haven't been able to pull out that chunk of cam out. I wonder if I'm covered or not. Looks like I might have to buy a new cam. When we put these in they were fine. No play and I have torqued everything down to spec. I have no clue what could have caused that other than the timing is off. I still haven't pulled the head off completely to see if a valve is bent but once I saw that a nauseating feeling has hit me in the gut.
I will call Gary tomorrow and see what can be done. I owed him a few bucks.. I hope he got it already.

pull the side cover if any of that gets down there and jams in the crank gear and the chain the problems you have will get worse. it will be easy to see all the parts then.

Well I went fishing... and I found the broken part of the cam. I thought they have shattered everywhere (I was fishing out small metal fragments) but I found the big peice. I will continue to remove some more fragmented peices until I can't pull out anymore as I can.
Now my big question is... seems like everyone who sells cams requires the stock or core one. Will a broken one suffice? I know you pay a crapload more for one without an exhchange. I have NO idea how that broke off and it can explain why I had a knocking noise and why the timing is off. Again the cam gear is fine, just the cam itself is screwed. I also need to know what type of cam it was.

WOW,
I have never seen that. I wonder if that will effect the spin as its slightly unballanced now..
I feel dumb. But what part is that? I see the cam bridge but the cam sprockets have teeth?
