A friend wants to buy a 50-90cc quad for his kids. He wants to buy a new one since he has three boys and they will get alot of use out of it. Do any of major manufacturers make quads for kids this size? He was looking at some small ones at the local tractor dealer.....maybe Blazer? I can't remember the name. Are these any good? Who makes them?

Greetings,

Susuki has had a good long run with the LT-80. E-ton has a 50 and a 90 which have both gotten good reviews. And Polaris just released three small quads made to look just like their bigger models -- a 50cc and 90cc "Scrambler" and a 90cc "Sportsman" (I think). These are all automatics. Honda makes a 90cc, but auto-clutch only. Yamaha has a 125cc Breeze and they had a 90cc Badger but I think its discontinued.

Check out Dirt Wheels for some back issues. They have done a number of reviews in the past year on the Honda and the Suzuki vs E-ton. Current issue has a short writeup on the Polaris (comes with a helmet included).

Several of our club members have the Suzuki Lt-80. We opted for the E-ton 90, Thunder. It has a wider stance than the Suzuki. I like the oil injection, this means no mixing it does it automatically.

There are many kids quads out there, this is good becasuse people want a premium for used ones if you can find them.

Good luck.

If you are interested in 2-STROKES, check out the July issue of Dirtwheels for a review on a 50cc and 90cc atv. These are imported from Taiwan by JEHM. List prices are $1899 and $2099, depending on which model you choose.
