hey anyone done any sled motors in a polaris atv ?? would it be a lot of work?

 

Check out this thread. There is a new guy in there by the name of polarotax700 that has a Rotax 700 twin in a 97 sport frame.

 

That's a friend of mine,the motor is not in the frame yet.I will be helping him get the motor in and get the jackshaft installed.Should be working on it next week sometime.I'll keep everyone posted on the progress.

 

It does take some work the pipes can be a pain my buddy has a 580 rotax in a banshee fame and one in a ltz500 frame but when its done its a blast

My dad and I put a 300cc Rotax snowmobile engine in a Kawasaki mojave 110 chassis. we made a counter shaft system to gear it down enough for the quad. My dad and a friend did another snowmobile motor/quad project before this. They wanted to build a quad for oval ice racing. They put a 467cc liquid cooled Rotax snowmobile snowmobile engine in a Suzuki 230 Quadsport chassis. It went very fast but didn't do well at ice racing..... Oh and the work involved is very extensive. LOT'S of cutting and welding, but lining everything up to work right is by far the most difficult.
