Default 17.1 HP Increase!!!!

I was looking through my February 04' Issue of Dirt Wheels. On Page 137 it has TLC Racing. It says you can get a 50% increase in hp on the YFZ. Anybody ever heard of TLC racing. If so how are their exhausts. Their Website is not working right now.

Thats a first to me. 17.1 sounds like alot of hp gain for just an exhaust. You sure its not a turbo, nos, or engine modification?

YA i saw that too!!!!theres no way in hell its true tho...i accually think the add just has bad grammer and lack of information,i think what they really ment was that all of there products on the yfz will give a 50% increase...but they said 17.1 and thats no where near close to 50% the yfz has 30-35 stock!
maby they ment 50 hp overall...some companies should acually have a second look at their adds b4 the go and make false advertising!jmo

I believe that the YFZ has a bit more than 30-35 stock .. not sure .. some others could correct me on that .. I understood it to be over 40hp stock.

I am not positive, but I believe 50% of 30-35 is damn near 17. I am not saying it will do that, just saying the math looks good to me.

I looked that ad over closer and on the left side of the tiny ad. In tiny hard to read writing they do porting and all that stuff too. So it's gotta be way more than just an exhaust. I guess all of you will just have to go get the New issue of Dirt Wheels and see that for yourselves.

I agree with the math.

Now if you had TLC stuff on your YZF and took it off, you'd only drop 33%.

ok, lets go back to second grade now, and learn how to divide. 40 divided by 2 = 20 35 divided by 2 = 17.5 now that we have that cleared up, assuming that the yfz has 35-40 hp stock, then if u get a 50% increase, then 17.5 hp increase isn't that innacurate now is it? besides, would u rather read "50% increase in power!" or "48.5% Increase is power!" i'm using 48.5% as an example, i don't know if that's the real percentage. from a marketing standpoint, 50% is more appealing to the eye, so lets not argue about that. lets argue about the fact that they make it appear that their exhaust alone gives that much of an increase.

yeah I noticed that "supposed gain" I figure it is with everything done to it..not even just the typical exhaust, jet, intake. Deffinately seems misleading, but if it's not...I'm all over it and everyone else..lol
