Default Question about the Outlander 400?

I've been considering getting an Outlander 400 as a second quad. Has anyone had any problems? How is the warranty service on them? I realize that the Outlander has a higher top speed than my Foreman. What would the top speed be on hard pack with about 3/4 of a mile to wind it out?

Default Question about the Outlander 400?

I love mine, I have gone 64mph on according to my speedo. I can usually beat the big bores just about everywhere except on a smooth long straightaway. We have 8 Outlanders in the group I ride with, the only problems we have had were minor.

Front brakes are worn after 1,200miles. (EBS severe duty last much longer)

Lube torsion bar on 3 of 8 Outties. (under warranty, 15 min. fix)

1 voltage regulator replaced. (Relocated to new location under warranty)

Front struts on 1 were replaced under warranty.(Leaked oil)

Overall a great machine especially for the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default Question about the Outlander 400?

I RECENTLY PURCHASED ONE AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH IT. I WAS A PREVIOUS POLARIS OWNER AND WANTED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW. IT WAS DEFINETELY A WALK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THEY ARE STARTING TO COME OUT WITH MODS FOR THIS MACHINE. THINGS LIKE CLUTCH KITS FROM ERLANDSON PERFORMANCE WHICH I HAVE INSTALLED AND AM VERY SATISFIED WITH. I ALSO HAVE A K&N FILTER THAT I FOUND FOR IT THAT HELP IN THE BREATHING OF THE MACHINE THAT HAS PROVED TO BE EFFECTIVE. THEY ARE ALSO COMING OUT WITH IN FEBRUARY A JET KIT FOR THE OUTLANDER 400 AS WELL.

Do you have the part # for that K/N filter? I have looked for it and they say K/N does not make one for the Outlander yet.
Also, What do you know about the jet kit for the Outlander, I normally go to Montclair Yamaha and they don't have a clue for the jet kit. A little scarry huh!

Thanks,

Default Question about the Outlander 400?

I have an outlander max 400 4x4, I love it. Just got back from a 300 mile trip with no problems. Even after a long day riding I was not to tried to fish at night. I did find out I needed a winch, it will be on by next weekend. Never got stuck, but I was worried somtimes.
