I work near the airport - just off washington and girlschool - live west of the city near Greencastle.
Where's my closest source for alcohol, besides IRP or the Motor Speedway? Like is there a bike shop or some race shop nearby I can get it in the 5 gallon can, or even a pump?

Don't forget the top end lube. A little Klotz Benol should be the easiest to come by, probably mix about 2 oz to a 5 gal can of alky.

Hey Hightower you guys do any farming up there? I've found that farm supply (feeds, grains, etc., fuels) carry or can get methanol. You may have to order a 55gal drum (and it should be labled purity 99.9% )...they say it will last without problem for a long time plus you'll probably have no trouble getting your buddies to get drunk with ya!

 

now there's a thought....I'll call Midland Co-op, that's who I get my propane (for house heat) from too.

Another alternative is to head to your local carwash. Inquire with the owner as to the quality of methanol he runs through the lines in the winter time, they ALL use it. The ones around here use the REAL stuff and have no problem ordering an extra can/drum if you need it.

 

What does methanol do for a car wash in the winter? I dunno if they -all- use it, it's a little more sunny here in Cali. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

i would assume they use it to keep the pipes from freezing up
