Default CDI and factory tach compatibility issues

Hey,
Has anyone heard of the factory tach not being compatible with certain CDIs. Has anyone had this experience? If so what brand was the CDI?

The Autometer tachs I get are from Ron Wood, and therefore are 'set up' for the DS. They tweek them for the 400EX and the Raptor as well. As far was what makes the autometer work on the DS, I have no idea; there's probably a trade secret in there. But it shouldn't be any different with the Vortex CDI.

I have talk to autometer on there tachs, all you have to do is send them back to the com. They will set it up for the pulses of your mach, at a cost of $25.00. Least that's what they told me.
On MSD I do'nt know. But then at the same time, I went with a stewart warner tach for my mach. Tach/shift light together, you can program the ppr yourself 1-6. And 1-12 cylinders item 114918 is the one I got.

Thanx Guys. I am still waiting for the tach... I was going to cancel my order but it sounds like it should work OK if I don't change my ignition.
