I have a '99 500 Magnum that will not start unless you hold the throttle a little bit to disengage the ETC. It also will stall when you put it in reverse unless you hold the override button. Any ideas on what to check would be helpful.

 

When you say "will not start" do you mean the starter does not turn over or it turns over fine but will not fire?

 

It spins over fine and will run if you rest your thumb on the throttle to break the contact on the ETC. As long as the ETC does not make contact it will run great until you put it in reverse then it dies unless you have the override button pushed.
