There was a shootout in a magazine that was out in the summer. It was a 250 shootout and they weren't that impressed with the Kasea.I can't remember specifics but they said you had to really rev the engine to the moon to get any power and even then it was less than the competition. Also they said the suspension sucked but that Kasea was continually working on it to get it right.Aparently it was a problem with the wieght of the oil in the shocks. It was either too light or too heavy.Depending on the size of the rider I would get a blaster or other "proven" bike. Hopefully someone who actually owns one will reply.

the 250 and 170 use the same frame and things like that. It isnt a good jumper or race bike. There are no after market parts for them, there is not a lot of torque and power. It has no reverse and has a manual cluth. The brakes wear fast, the cluth cable is cheap, a-arms bust easy, and front shocks are junk with a nice rear shock. Does that awnser the question? I would look at a honda, yamaha,or kawasaki.

have you ever ridden the 250 or you just talking about the 170 cuase one thing that is a fact is that the 250 has a better power to weight ratio than a 300ex. does the 170 land hard after jumping. I know that the 170 only wieghs 320# and thats on par with the blaster and the blaster is a great jumper. And the frame is the same as a blaster so ther are a tun of mods for it . But the bad tthing is that their arent any motor mods like high comp piston, vavles, camshaft,. BUT ther is a big bore kit(300CC). Have you had any problems with the 170 other than weak a-arms, clutch cable, brakes and front shocks. All are easilly fixed. I was planing on getting front shock and aftermaket a-arms. I hear from some people that the clutch springs are to soft replace them with stiffer springs that might solve your problem. Again if you have ridden the 250 can you tell me how it is.thanx

the kasea 250 is slow compared to a blaster,i have a friend who races one in the blaster class and gets killed on the holeshot...an old stock 230 quadsport is even faster.he has the big gun full exh, honda clutch and springs, smaller rear tires and needs alot more.the only 300 kit that i know of was 4 pistons that ronnies mail order had custom made by je pistons at 200.00 each.if you know of another source i am very int as we would like to try this mod.we have a practice nite during the week and the 250 practices with the minis getting outran by the modded 90cc bikes.the handling and suspension is on track with a new blaster though....
