I have posted at other sites and got no respones.Heres what Im looking to due. Looking to plan a dune trip with around 5 of my firends would like it to be within a 24 hour drive(one way) from baltimore. We are all experinced riders just not in sand.We all have 2 wheel drive atvs mainly warriors and 400ex's.Some trails or woods next to or mixed with dunes would be sweet maybe a state that has dunes and large wooded areas like hatfield so we could ride both while were out there.
Would be need to purchase sand tires?
Also it has to have camping sites on site.(we will be renting RV)
Anybody know where to rent rvs in maryland?
Just get me pionted in the right direction so I can start planning this.
Thanks guys and gals!!

Closest dunes in the East is Silver Lake in Michigan. You'll have to map it from where you live but it won't take 24 hrs to get there. Also further north from there Michigan has TONS of trail riding. You would need weeks to see them all. I haven't been there yet but am in the process of getting trips together for atv vacations. I'm from NJ and have been as far south as Florida with the quad but haven't ventured north much yet but will soon. Look up Michigan and their state parks and you will have a bundle of info like I do.

Funny, Im right next to you and me and 5 of my buds were planning on doing the same thing, but maybe this year. We were planning on MI too BUT its only 450 acres.... make that a square and ya get 21 acres, not really all that big, ya know? We ride at Tower City and Rausch, and are planning on trying Blue Daimond and some place that I cant think of the name thats out Rt 70 somewhere.... Where do you all ride at?

450 is kinda small do you have any other ideas? We normally ride local which sucks ***.We do atleast two trips a year to hatfield mccoy which I highly recommend. We do rausch creek a couple times a year.We did tower city once and didnt have that good of a time but thinking of giving it another try. Do you guys like Tower city?we didnt really know where to ride, were thinking of going again this sunday.I would like to go up there with some people that know the area better.
Whats is blue diamond?Have you ever went to the state park deer deep creek I think its called green ridge?

I live in Michigan and go to Silver Lake a few times a year. Its fun, not really big but its big enough though like you said and its just open dunes. But there are quite a few other places in michigan to ride within 3-4 hours of silver lake probably actually closer then that, thats just a large time estimate. Go to Click here for information on Michigan ORV/ATV there is all the info you need to know. Also check out my webpage there are just a few pics of silverlake maybe i can post some more for you of us in action.

Tower is just really big man, so much of it is rocky, but we are always finding more and more that you can really open it up on. We were just there this past sunday, it was only 12 deg that day. I think that we were only 4 of maybe 20 people there, it was so nice. Blue Daimond is a place in DE somewhere, from talking to a couple of guys in NJ where I was working one day they said it is pretty nice, all MX. We do all kinds of riding though, just depends on what we feel like that day. What kinda place is hatfield mccoy ? I called and talked to the guys and he said that it was pretty rocky, but they have a little of everything. We like to wind our bikes out and race alot and I was wondering if this place would be worth the trip, sounds like it might.... how far is it from here?

Allegheny National Forest in Western Pennsylvania is a really good trip to take with the guys.
You can camp if you want or stay in a motel right next to Rt.80. It's easy to get to and there is 110 miles of trails to ride. These have to some of the most excellent trails you'll see.
