I am going to buy a new rancher real soon and i was wondering if i should get the ES or the S..
I know that it depends on how i ride and i like to rid in mud mud and more mud..and then i like riding wheelies and stuff too..and i was just wondering which to get???
ohh yeah and will a stock rancher beat a stock foreman?

For mudding and crossing creeks, I like the ES. I also prefer to have the floorboards and the Speedo that come with the ES. However, getting an ES around here is not easy right now. The foot shift (S) is easier to find. You also said that you like doing wheelies, you might want to look at something other than the Rancher. Some guys can do them on the Rancher. I can do a wheely with a little help from a "bump" or a hill. But they are not the ultimate wheely machine. As far as the mud goes, not many quads will do any better right off the showroom floor. You should decide which you want, wheelies or a mudder. Maybe some of the other guys can recommend a quad that will do both real well, but my experience is that you kinda of get one or the other.

why u even want to ask a question about this u dont need no speedo or anything and it wont last long cause its gonn abe flipped so many times ur gona break it up and the s u can hold the shifter between gears to pop a wheelie so it will do better their and u have dirtbikes for the wheelie stuff
yes the rancher will beat a STOCK foreman

This is a tough call. For anything other than wheelies I would suggest the ES. I have never had a problem and I love it. I wouldn't buy anything else. But I dont do wheelies and I know that it will be very tough with the ES to do them. You seem to want two extremes here. A mud machine and a wheelie machine.

Lets see......for only $200 difference in price there is no comparison.
The ES gives you the cool digital dash & FULL floor boards. The floor boards work really well keeping mud off of you.
Go with the ES, you won't regret the choice!

I have heard that sometimes the Rancher ES will get stuck in gears when in ruff terrain such as:real bad mud holes.I dont know if this is true or not but if it is I'm sure Honda will have the problem fixed in no time.
