Default Anybody paintball?

I'm thinking about getting into paintballing but don't know a thing about it. What I'd like to know is what kind of gun to buy. I know those things can get kind of pricey, but I'll spend up to 500 bucks on one. So does anyone know of any good guns for that price?

Here is a place to get some guns, the guns you want to look at there are the Kingman, Tippman, Bob Long, and Pirahna, these are the guns i have had experience with and know they are pretty good. This is an example of how expensive Angel paintball guns really are, your best bet is to type it in on google/ebay, etc and look for a used one, they ARE real expensive BUT come with Semi auto, Fully auto, and like 3 different bursts. These Spyders are VERY good paintball guns, i have had mine for years and they work wonders for the $$. A few tips since your a beginner: NEVER take your mask off during battle unless you yell "TIME!", one of the dealers we bought parts from was shot in the neck and had a blue/black wealt for days, Never buy Brass Eagle, they have good prices but their guns will fall apart on you, If your gun ever jams and the bolt wont move back and forth, take the bolt out, clean it up, run water through it (its titanium so dont worry about rusting) and it should be ok, a no brainer-wear extra cloths like Carhart "cover-alls", these work good, If you buy a gun that has fully automatic as an option (or burst), you need an electronic hopper to feed the ***** in at the rate its shooting them, wear gloves also, my dad has been hit in the fingers and he KNOWS it hurts. This oughta get ya started, lemme know if you need any other info.

How ironic...Ive been asking the same question, seeing whos balling and who aint, on the automotive forums im on and was heading over here to ask it also. Angles run about 1500 to 2000, forget them, Id barely pay that much for a real gun. I just got in about 3-4 weeks ago. I got a Black Spyder Shutter, Java ed. with a 200rd feeder, 20oz tank and some other stuff all for 110. I bought it from a guy I work with. Only been used 3 times. Lots of people are out there wanting to sell their equipment for a wicked low price. Lots of times they get so into they buy all the stuff they can and sometime later, they lose interest and they just want to get rid of it. Right now I have a choice of buying several $250-$300 markers+extras for about 120-170 for everything, but those are my friends or friends of a friend. Ask around, you wont believe how many people play...its amazing the things people never tell you about.
But to try to help you out a lil more...

Yah, i forgot about the C02, you need to get at least a 20 oz. they last for a while, a tip in case your taking the co2 off, fan the trigger(shoot it like a ****) while your unscrewing the c02, this keeps the pressure off the Oring and saves it.

I have a Spyder and hate the thing, it breaks ***** all the time and it is a mess to clean up. I have used Tippmans many times even went a rented one several times when my Spyder acted up! You should get atleast a 20 oz tank and a shut off valve so you can save the o-rings.

You cant go wrong with a Tippmann.

I looked at the A-5s and was going to end up buying one of them, but that offer was brought up and I took it. Ill probably still buy one later on. That Autococker is a good buy if it doesnt go up too high. That boomstick alone is worth about 100, not to mention the other stuff. But the A-5 has a pretty big market and you can customize them things to no end.
And just to try and defend Spyder. Each gun is different and reacts differently with different types of paint. Weather and temp are also a factor in how a gun performs. Breaking alot of ***** can be anything from bad paint to velocity settings to something mechanical in the gun. I bough cheap paint, 1000 for $20, 500 rounds and not a one broke. And none of my friends with the low end spyders havent broken any either....and they shoot like mad men. Just like cars, there will be lemons and some guns will just need to be fixed. It doesnt mean the whole company sucks. Ive heard bad things about all markers with the exception of angels, but they have their problems too Im sure.
