hot rod cranks are like 150 bucks. You wont find a crank cheaper then that. there is no performance gain if your going to just a stock stroke. Only difference between an oem and a wiseco crank is the rod. Honda sells the crank halves, but not the rod. So wiseco uses the oem halves and put their own rod on it

Beech, what is the max stroke you can put into stock 250r cases without major machining (I know the top must be clearanced with any R stroker)? Who is the best to go with for stroker cranks? I went with Wiseco with my 4mm on my banshee but they don't make R strokers.

Also, what brand of pipe do you run on drag R's?

What do you run your squish at? What about compression numbers for alky? What reed cage?

Sorry for all the questions but I am sure I will have more as this motor goes together.

im generous and all, but i cant give out all my information alk. Squish usually should be set at .045 to ..058 IMO. .045 for the serious motors only. On alk compression should be around 200-210. Cranks, depending on what you want...esr actually has some good cranks up to 5mm. Thats about all i would put in a set of cases without "a lot of work". Anything else requires some labor. CPI does our pipes. Reedcage depends on the motor your building

Thanks man. My setup is a 91 cr cylinder. A 4mm stroker should net about 200 degrees of exhaust timing with my porting if my math is right. That 5mm should be about 201-202 which is about what I am wanting.

I have studied and learned quite a bit about banshees but I just am not that familiar with R's. Such as I run .028" squish (what is said to be the minimum for banshees). 210 is about what I thought for compression.

Have you ran the PVL ignition? I have a motoplat (old PVL) setup that I am going to try.

Do you happen to have a site address or phone # for Eddie Sanders?

.028 with 200psi compression. Good thing I only run 13-14 degrees total timing at 10,000 huh?

Did you get my edit on the last post about ESR's #?

Any particular reason not to run the PVL on the R? A local flattracker runs one on hers. Kind of has a problem with blowing the tires off though.

ill pm you the number.

Reason i dont like the pvl is because it doesnt have a brain box (meaning you have to run a set advance), and i dont like that. Makes it too hard to start these big engines
