Default what is this on my tranny

what is the stud number 5 for also what number would be the bolts that seal the case because i am missing one. one more thing there are three holes in a triangle pattern and the stud fills one of them should there be studs in the other two???

Default what is this on my 400 sport tranny

First, the case bolts are #7, they are 1/4 - 20 thread with a 3/8" head. You can get away with a normal 1/4 - 20 bolt with a 7/16" head in some of the spots, all the case bolts are the same, so you just have to shuffle them around to accept a spot the 7/16" head fits.

#5 Stud is part of the speedo gear attaching system - Polaris used the same tranny cases for a lot of different models - some had the speedo option. The other 2 holes there are also part of the means to attach the speedo gear housing.

Yes, they are supposed to be empty, unless there is a speedo gear to attach.
