Sure you can. Here is a quote from HPD's website. " HPD holds numerous racing records and championships with machines they've built. Dave Heider, HPD Quad Racer, was so far ahead in the Open Utility Quad class that the competition whined until they made a special class for our modified Polaris ATV's ... maybe we shouldn't have made him so fast?"

HPD has a race chassis that they build that whoops the competition. The scramblers were doing very well in GNCC races as well. Lancems007 had a GNCC built scrambler that he raced. Rath races a Predator as well. So yes, you can race an auto and be competative

I would not feel comftorable jumping a 500 scrambler.. That to me is def not a race machine.. 4x4 is not for racing

The scram is not for the MX track, but it does good in the GNCC events. Its only real competition is the V-Force. Mickey Dunlap sponsors a 500 scram that has won numerous events in the GNCC, as well as AAEN's 500 Scram. The quad that HPD builds is a one-off. It uses a 250R(?) front suspension and a custom built frame with a 400 Race Mod (and Powermaxx 416) motor and CVT

They are very competitive on smaller TT tracks because of the auto. You are always in the right gear. I race against a sport and we trade wins a lot. Very fast off the line.
