Default Dirtwheels dynoed new 450 honda

The dirtwheel dyno of the new honda 450 produced 37hp at 7300 rpm stock and with a white bros slip on, open airbox and a 190 main jet it made 40.0 at 7200 rpm.

Dirt wheels also dynoed the yamaha 450 and got 39.3 at 8050 rpms (stock) and with a gyrt slip-on/open air box and a 165 mainjet the results were 44.6 at 8200 rpm

Hmm.......seems like most everyone is leaning towards the YFZ with mod's. HMF also leans towards the YFZ when installing the HMF pipe.

I can confirm that stock horsepower on the YFZ.. its listed as 39 horsepower on the MSO (manufacture statement of orgin) that I received upon purchase.

The test sounds very credible.

Sounds like we got a close one here. I wish they would have tested it with a different slip-on tho, but im sure the gty-r isnt the best for the yfz too.

"Dirtwheels said blah, blah blah"... lol i hear ya, atleast they got good pictures, thats why i buy it.

For a long time I have seen mods for the YFZ450 but I have not seen NEARLY as much as I did on the TRX450R. It seems like yamaha is trying to make the power of the YFZ450 come kind of close to the TRX450 But it makes me mad that they don't have as many mod's to put on the Honda and to much on the Yamaha. Oh, well..

Just like the dirt bikes, I would expect the Yamaha to have the edge in raw horsepower. And, just like the dirt bikes (and everything else), the Honda to have the edge in handling!
