Default Spraying your quad with WD-40 or Pam cooking spray???

I was at the dealership yesterday and I was talking with one of the sevice techs. He told me a good way to keep you engine and all of your plastic from getting mud stained was to spray wd-40 over the whole bike except for like your handgrips and foot rests. He also said that when you get mud all over it would come off really easy when you go to spary it down.He recommended that I spray the whole undercarriage and everything with wd-40 including the engine. Have any of you guys heard of this. He also said that I could use Pam cooking spray.

it keeps moisture away (helps),,,,keeps it all shiny,,,and creates a slippery no stick surface for the mud.

Actually, i forgot to mention,,,,,You really dont want to do this in the dry dusty weather or on the sand dunes (dust/sand just tends to stick and make things worse). basicly for the mud

I"ve been using either formula 2001 or armour all
helps quite a bit.....for mud...
be careful not to get it on your seat......you will slide right off in an agressive corner

We use grease up here to coat the frames and wheels when we are using our quads at fish camp it helps keep the corrosion down when you ride it in the surf and sea air. Otherwise the frames rust thru in a couple of years, gets on your clothes once in awhile but at least the bike lasts.AlaskaBoy.

I use Pam on my EX, it keeps if from sticking to the pan. Butter flavor is the best....

Seriosly. I use any of those quick spray on waxes with silicon in them for the platic. Never tried spraying the motor with anything.

I have been lot of stuff. Mothers Polish on all my metal parts(bumper/grab bar, pipe, axle, chrome and polished pieces) WD40 on all my metal surfaces, and plastic renu and Armor all on my fenders. keeps it looking good and easy to clean every time. WD40 plays a huge part in fighting rust.

So I take it that this doesn't hurt the bike at all? Will the stuff come off the fenders if you go to wash it with soap and water? Also does it really keep the mud stains off the fenders and engine?

hurt the bike,,,,heck no,,,its fine for it

I go thru a small can every washing,,,,,and wipe off the excess,,,,it makes everything shine (none on the seat, pegs, or grips and I stay away from the brake rotors too)

be sure to coat the wires, battery and any exposed electrical (it keeps corrosion and moisture out)

use it liberally on the undercarraige too
