Default turbo cams

talking to gottfried @ pami the #4 race cams i just bought have to much overlap for a turbo. the numbers are
inlet cam 292 degree duration (@ 1mm valve lift) and is installed with 5.5mm valve lift in overlap
exhaust cam 276 degree and has 4.9mm valve lift in overlap. who should i call for more cam info on a turbo?

on a stock DS, the stock cams work fine. i've run the stock cams (~242 degree, ~32 overlap) in stock configuration and with the intake cam retarded 1 tooth to reduce overlap and to give more upper RPM power.

the bigger the exhaust housing, the more cam you can run, but overlap should not be too high.

i have web 109's i might try on a stock DS with GT15 turbo. you might get away with 256 or 260 degrees, possibly altering overlap at installation if needed.

talked to web today and they said to send my race cams out there and they would take out the overlap and keep the high lift? for some reason this does'nt seem right? maybe cause on the phone one person was yelling back to another about my cams. i have never worked with web are they a good company? can i trust them to not screw up my parts?

Does those stroker motors requier adjustable cam timing?? if so then maybe Pami will just trade you out for some "trail" cams.

bigger.

Hey, I want a PM!

What's the deal with the Pami Race 4 cams? I have the race 1 cams on my 760 and I am probably not getting the most top end potential out of this engine.

Are your's degreed different Jeff or did you just have trouble with your original set-up for some reason (can't remember what you ran into.)

scooby thanks for all the info!! i know that you are the man for the turbo ds's. do you think i should try the stock cams first then install the 109's? or just go for the 109's right away?

duneme i had gottfried set up the #4's complete with gears, i think he does change the cam timiing because of the extra charge for set-up and pin relocation. they come on strong at 6500rpm and pull all the way to the top!! also the intake cam has a hole in the center of the lobe to lighten the thing. see the pic's on pami's page.
