Default Pics from South Carolina

Hey all,
I took a trip to visit my buddy in South Carolina on Mon and Tues. On the way up from Florida, I hit Interstate 26 and started seeing the carnage. There was about 50 cars all smashed up along the way from where they hit ice on a few bridges and slid into the median or slid off the road. Like ~50 people died I heard through the week.
I uploaded some pics of my quad in the back of my truck. It was frozen there under about 2 inches of ice.
Check it out here: http://forums.atvconnection.com/photos.cfm/ID/3517/#TOP
The brakes were a ball of ice and the key switch was under about 1 inch of crystal clear ice.
I did get to go riding on Tues though!
After thawing out my truck and getting the Quad off,
Me and my friend took about a 25 mile ride, into town, got gas at the gas station, and then took some back roads home.
The back roads were awefull! Trees were down everywhere. We had to go into the woods and make trails around trees and through sticker bushes just to get around some of the downed trees in the way.
Just when I thought we couldn't get in any worse shape, we came apon a 300 foot long mud pit and we had to cross it or turn back and go about 10 miles through the same obstacles we just came through.
My friend made it through on his 300 EX with just a little "bobbing and weaving" in the carolina red clay mud, so next it was my turn.
I got stuck in the mud a few times on my V and know NOT to go slow. So I gassed it and stayed in it the whole way. I swear I was doing like 30 mph in some nasty mud. Just when I was about 15 feet from the end of the mud pit, the front end sank down about a foot and a half into a blind watery hole and covered me in water from head to toe. Ugg. It was ~25 degrees out and the temp was dropping fast.
I couldn't do anything but ride it out the rest of the way home.
We rode for about another 5 miles in the freezing cold and Icey clay roads till we got back.
I was frozen solid. Never had chills like that before.

What a trip!

Mike
