76 Racing Fuel "NO MORE"
#1
I just found this and thought it would be good info.
GLENVIEW, Ill. -- Gasoline Following the discontinuance of the 76 Racing Gasoline brand by the ConocoPhillips organization beginning January 1, 2004, Paragon Performance Products, Inc. has been formed by the team of scientists and engineers responsible for the formulation and development of what once was the world’s leading racing gasoline to manufacture and distribute the new RockettTM Brand Racing Fuel.
Due to reorganization, ConocoPhillips (the owners of the 76 Brand) will discontinue production of the 76 Brand of racing gasoline effective 12/31/03. In an effort to preserve the knowledge and racing experience accumulated by the world’s most recognized and widely used performance fuel, a new company will be formed by former key employees responsible for the 76 Racing Gasoline brand to blend Rockett BrandTM Racing Fuel. The company, Paragon Performance Products, and its racing fuel will have no affiliation with the 76 Brand or ConocoPhillips.
Rockett BrandTM Racing Fuel will be available in 100, 111, 114 and 118 octane formulations based on improved versions of the 76 Brand of racing gasoline. “We’ve channeled over 66 years of racing gasoline research, development, manufacturing and marketing into formulating the absolute top performing racing fuel in the market today - Rockett BrandTM” comments Tim Wusz, the prior fuels expert for 76 Racing Gasoline. “This represents a tremendous opportunity for Jack Day, developer of the 76 Racing Program, and me to produce and distribute racing fuels that go beyond anything in the industry in terms of quality, reliability and performance enhancement. It’s a dream that we have both been pursuing for a long time, and are delighted that it is finally here.”
Individuals familiar with the 76 Brand of racing gasoline and its 75+ years of racing history will be sorry to see the demise of the “winningest” brand of racing gasoline in all of motor sports history. But it appears that if Jack Day and Tim Wusz have anything to say about it, all of the strategic thinking and formulation that went behind the success of the 76 Brand will rise like a Phoenix in the form of a “rocket”, Rockett BrandTM Racing Gasoline that is. Former distributors of 76 Racing Gasoline seem to agree, as many of them will be carrying the new fuel beginning January 1, 2004.

I can still buy 100 at the pump also. I usually pay $4.59 a gal and I'm gonna stop by there and ask what they may replace it with. I've been looking around and VP is about $1.50- $2.50 per gal more. I'm looking at some Sunoco standard Purple for about $4.50 a gal but It's about 35 miles round trip away from my house.
Sunoco has some fuel specs that are pretty nice. Check it out at Sunoco

Sunnoco makes some awesome race gases. All of my drag car friends run it. I run TT111 because it is easier to get.
Daren, with a big bore and all the extra displacement you have over me, it will take more than race gas for me to keep up. Hint, Hint.
