Default Need some help, so just look

I just got my new engine together today and rode it around to break it in. After about an hour of good slow riding, I decided to open it up. Whoo wee did it have alot more power! But, I was winding 5th gear out for about 5 or so mins strait when something gave out and it over heated. I pulled in the clutch and killed it and rolled to a stop. The coolant was boiling and things just werent good. I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere with no ride. So I decided to wait a few, throw some snow on the engine to cool it off, then go as far as I could before I had to stop again. I had to stop about 5 other times to let it cool down. Now I dont exactly know what happened because I havent got time to see what went wrong. The guy that rebuilt it for me said to check the breather tube so I wouldnt get vapor lock, but I didnt exactly know what he ment. Do you guys have any opinions on what could have happened?
