Default Need help adjusting rear Raptor brakes!

Hi!

My son and I each have a 2003 Raptor.

It seems like you have to press his rear brake pedal down much further than mine to get the brakes to engage.

This is especially cumbersome when he is using some "body English" while riding, i.e., sometimes his foot is not in the correct angle to press the brake pedal down as far as it needs.

Is there a way to adjust the rear brake pedal so he doesn't have to press it so far to get it to engage?

Thanks!

Adjusting the parking brake at the caliper may help.

Check the rotor and make sure it's not bent, spreading the pads apart.

The pins that the caliper slide on tend to hang up and will cause the same sort of problem. I don't think they properly lube them from the factory.

I found air in a couple lines from the factory. The guys didnt know until they put skids like PRM's on. the pedal would actually hit the skid and stop, giving them little rear braking. They thought it was PRM's fault LOL

We bleed them down, it took a long while. usually the air is up at the master cylinder and its not entirely a lot of air so use a nylon tube from the caliper right back into the master cylinder resevour and it will be easier to spot.

I believe there is, at the master cylinder, on the rod going up to it.

Its only going to adjust the ride hieght of the pedal, not the throw.

I'm sure your brake does not need to be adjusted, you just need to bleed the air out. This is a common occurance on Raptors. Once you get the air out you will find the breaks are just fine.

I have bled the brakes and the pedal still goes a long ways before it applies the brakes.

I just want to decrease the amount of freeplay in the pedal.

Any other help?
