There are a lot of variables, but if they all come close you probably can. It will probably run, but it may actually hurt the performance. It could help it too. If your bored one day give it a shot.

Isn't there a mortal sin somewhere about putting any other brand part on a yamadog? I would think it would permanently taint the other brand.......

I think the word you're looking for is "spoil" the other brand. The part will wonder why it wasn't on a Yammi to begin with ...

i dont really know much bout if u could or not but i hate it when people put chevys in fords and fords in chevys. i work at a classic car dealership and this guy sold us a ford hot rod and it had a chevy steering wheel. so y would u want to put a yamaha on a polaris. it doesnt make sense. just my opinion

I agree with you for the most part .. i hate seeing pickups with other manufacturer's hubcaps on and such ..

Only point I see with respect to the original post is that if you have the part sitting around and it could maybe provide a benefit to another machine you have, regardless of the brand, then I think you'd be foolish not to use it. Besides .. not like it's a Polaris Carb ... it's probably a Kehin or Mikhuni (spelling) that you could find on just about any brand, right? Like the polaris fan cooled 440 which is made by fujitsu (Fuji Heavy Industries).

Just about all the Jap bikes come with Mikuni carbs, as do most of the Polaris machines. I am sure you could make it work

AMEN BROTHER!!! I can't stand it when people take the 30's models Ford trucks and put Chevy motors in them?!?!? If its a chevy, put a CHEVY motor in it. Its a ford, put a FORD motor in it.......AHHH! Sorry.....I'm done now.... lol. Its just sacrilage to put a chevy motor in a perfectly good Ford!

PS. If you think you start crap in the Yamaha forum saying that hondas rule, wait till you get a good ole' fashion Ford vs. Chevy arguement..... Rednecks have been debating for YEARS and still they can't come to an agreement. lol I get such a kick out of how Hot and bothered people get over brand loyalty. I don't have ANY brand loyalty. If its a better product, or a better deal(yes it all comes back to money) I'm there. Unless its a Kawasaki of course.....they'd have to GIVE me one of them thar' thangs..... j/j

Just got a make sure you are jetted correctly or you will burn it up. Ever see a polaris top end on a honda 250R? It screems...It is now called a polanda. I don't see anything wrong with mix matching. What ever works.
