Default CDI FAQ up

I put up an FAQ on the CDI. Let me know if there is anything you'd like to see added.

Peace,

Need to mention the loss of those things that come with the stock CDI. Such as reverse limiter and anti-theft deal with the key switch. The anti-theft thing is a biggie with me because I had one stolen.

I don't have any information on the V-force, but I'll ask about it.

I haven't tested the security feature, so I need to make sure it is dependent on the CDI and if so, that the CDI doesn't support it. Any ideas on how I can test that out? My understanding is that something looks for the key to be in the switch before the ignition with turn over. Is that correct? I guess I could try wiring a switch without the key and see what happens with both the stock and Dyna. The reverse limiter and belt sensor are covered in the write up, but I'll add to the FAQ as well.

Peace,
Sgt_Rock

Disconnect the ign switch, then try to hot wire the ign. Connect the hot wire to the two other wires as if you lost your key and were trying to get it to run.

If it runs, there is no security feature (that is OK by me).

I'll give that a shot this weekend. I also dropped the engineer at Dyna a note to ask him what he knows about it, if anything.

It looks like I'll be riding the 765 FTS on Sunday. It's going to take one week from start to finish for the install. If anyone is looking for a guy to do the install, PM me. The guy that is doing mine is both fast and good. I was expecting a few weeks but the hardest thing has been getting parts (gaskets and jets) to him as fast as he needs them. He would have been today if I had done a better job of getting the parts together.

Peace,
Sgt_Rock

I'm not planning on it. I think the CDI will give me all the advance I need, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.

I have no suggestions, just wondering what to do myself.
