Default extra power for a winch

I have a 700 polaris sportsman with a 2000 LBS super winch . I was wondering if there is an accessories that I could install that would produce more voltage to power the winch. it does good most of the time but when it get's in a big bind it will just about stop pulling. Thanks for the info

Do you have a ****** Block? It will double the pulling power of your winch, although your line distance is reduced by 1/2.

You could also try installing bigger leads, the main wires from the battery, solinoid, and ground, also keep them as short as possible. Go to your local hardware store and get the next size bigger wire, and new copper lugs, the more flexible wire is much easier to install. It's not that expensive. There will be a slight increase in pull, but not nearly as much as a snach block. I did both to my quad and never ran out of power, just had trouble finding strong enough anchor points.

if it is a sealed realy it can handle really wet locations, and being that it is for a atv winch it would imagine, it will be a seealed rellay - silonoid.
The shorter and biger the wire the better but being that it was instaled by the dealer or yourself as a kit they vill have they right size. and as for more power you will have to go with the old double up deal, put on a hook with a pully and run your cable thorugh the pully and then back to your wich and hook it or mount it some ware on you bike. that is really the only way to get more power other that to get another one. you only get 12v from your battery or alternator, thats it thats all.

I have a ****** block and it helps alot in fact it will make my winch do what I need it to . I was realy wonting to know about the power because some times my battery light flashes when it is in a bind with out using a ****** block. And was also wondering about an onboard charger for the battery and if it would help in a situation like that. Thinks for all of everyones HELP!

well to tell you the truth that is just about as much power as you going to get out of your 2000 lbs winch. you could give it a voltage boost from another power suply but then you would have to isolate the rest of the machine for you winch and then you would have to spend big $$ and then your winch might blow to becuse it is only disined for a certin voltage and towing capacity
