I have a 185S that won't start. I have checked the voltage at the plug wire it is 33 volts when I crank it over. I checked the fuel valve it is flowing gas. I have sprayed starting fluid in the carb and it sorta acts like it wants to start. The motor is fairly new the kid I bought it from said it started runnin bad then just quit. I know get a manual I have one on order but it's not here yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

well i had a 200es honda that done that. your valves might be to tight. dirty carb could be a problem take it of and soak it in carb cleaner.
Are you gettin spark?

 

Clymer manual got here today. Tested had a bad CDI. Also carb is runnin too rich gonna tear down tommorrow. It's pretty filthy. Does anyone know how to tell the diffrence between a 200 and a 185. Also does anyone have a CDI for sale I need one for my big red they are the same as the 185S. Thanks

 

I compared the cdi units from my 200m to my 110, and they have the same part numbers. Plugged the atc 110 unit on the 200m and it did run, so they may be the same. And I do have an extra one. May work on a 185.
