I was just wondering if anyone else has made this mod, I think that that stock bars are way too high. I bought a set of cheap Moose Bars 16$ at the local bike shop. These have only about a 2"
rise as opposed to the 6" rise on the factory bars. These feel much better and give better control. The problem is that when you put lower bars on the headlights look too high.
I solved that by making a new headlight bracket out of some 1 1/4" angle iron, and got rid of the guard. This moves the lights down and back, it really tucks them in nice. It also makes quick steering easier by taking some of the weight off the bars.

5300 is very high, folks can get a new one for just a tad more.

 

I just going to see if Ican get decent buck for it. If I get it I might ( this is where you should sit down) defect and buy a Raptor!
I like the performance of the 500 but the Raptor seems to good to be true. I am going to wait and ride one first. I am not the kind to put down a deposit and sign for something that I can't even see.
Don't get me wrong the raptor has its faults and I am not ging to dump my 500 for peanuts just to get one.
